Fill me up Lord!

Just reading this beautiful story (John 2:7) on this Sunday afternoon.

Jesus instructed the servants to fill the “water pots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. I went to my Greek dictionary to find out how the word “brim” was used in Jesus’s time. It meant, “filled up ABOVE, higher up.”

Remember the promise, “To Him who is able to do abundantly ABOVE all that we ask or think” (Eph: 3: 20) There’s that word again – above!

If like a thirsty deer, I long for the water of God’s fullness to fill up the empty places in my life, He promises that He will fill me to the brim – higher up, ABOVE all I could even dream for…all I could wish for…all I could desire.

Don’t you just love this!
