This morning as the year 2025 is coming to an end I sat down to worship the Lord with gratitude filling my heart!
Very grateful for His Grace – the free and boundless mercy of God. The grace that filled the Father’s heart and led Him to send His only begotten son Jesus to earth!
As I tried to ask myself whether I have thanked Jesus recently for all He has done for me, the Lord turned my attention to Matt 26:13, where He says,
‘Verily I say unto you, wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.’
This story contains a powerful lesson on gratitude! The Bible tells us that at the home of Simon the leper, a woman, having an alabaster box of precious ointment, poured the perfume over Jesus’ head, and the odor filled the room.
We had the privilege of visiting Bethany and see the house where Simon the leper lived. So I could picture in my mind what was going on at Simon’s home.
Of course there were criticisms for this act of extravagance, but Jesus responded saying that her act of gratitude will be remembered wherever the gospel is preached!
We remember her today because she said, ‘THANK YOU’ to Jesus. Not after the cross but before and not after the resurrection but before!
As the year 2025 ends, and the New year begins, why not take time and just say, “Thank you,” to Jesus for all that He has done for you!
A simple THANK YOU will do if your heart is filled with gratitude!
THANK YOU JESUS!
