This Sunday was unusually quiet and gloomy as our city was under a very strict lockdown. But I think Solar eclipse was the strong reason to lock our people down more than the fear of Covid. Apart from the strayed dogs there was no one on the streets. I should admit that a sound of Ambulance going through our street to pickup a patient brought my spirit down too!
But as a ray of light piercing through the darkness came my hope as our Pastor was reading the Gospel Lesson from John 4 th chapter during the morning online Worship service. As I opened the Bible to follow his reading my eyes stuck on 4:4 and a light pierced through my gloomy heart!
Here John says that , Jesus left Judea and returned to Galilee. But then, John continues with specific words which amazed me. “He must needs go through Samaria’ (John 4:4)
But Why? He could have returned to Galilee using the same route he took while going! Just to be clear I looked at Greek translation where this short phrase is translated, “It was necessary He travel through Samaria or He ‘pierce through’ Samaria.”
One moment please! Rather than turn to His disciples and tell them that “Sychar” was not on the map on their journey why Jesus said He must needs go through Samaria?
All of us know whom He met in Samaria! Oh how beautiful it is to know that Jesus had to pierce through the darkness of Samaria like a ray of light just to meet one person at the well!
Today, you may be asking this question, Will Jesus find one like me too? I am in darkness! Will He pierce through my life and bring light?
Thankfully, the love of our Saviour is so wide and so grand that, He will search you out in any way possible to help you!
Today are you troubled? afraid? Be assured that He will do everything in order to meet you and to let you know that you mean the world to Him! Amidst our time of darkness and gloom He will pierce through our lie bringing a ray of hope!
