And the angel answered and said unto the woman, ‘Fear not ye for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here, for HE IS RISEN’. (Matt 28:6)
Ten years ago my husband and I took a trip all through the Holy Land. We had a longing to walk where Jesus walked. But of all the places we visited, the one that made the most lasting impression on us was the visit to a tomb, a place believed to be the tomb where Jesus was laid.
I have frequently visited both the cemeteries where my mother and father are buried. I have never seen an empty tomb. These days here the tombs are opened to bury more and more.
Thank God, there is an empty tomb where once the Son of God was laid, from where His Father called Him and raised Him!
We know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in His presence (II Corinthians 4: 14)
While the death of Jesus gives me the grace that washes the stains in my life, the resurrection of Jesus gives me the hope I need each day to keep moving forward in the face of life’s troubles and sorrows.
How thankful I am today that I can rejoice because the empty tomb holds the promise of a hopeful future!
Happy Resurrection Day! God bless you!
